With the support of The Belinga Foundation, a partner of FENASCO
LIGUE B, the football competition
among schools in the Southern
region had a unique flair on March 16, 2025.
The day began with a football match between the public school of
Mengong 2 and
the public school of Keeke, Ekouk, and Nnemeyong 1.
Mengong 2 won the match by a score of 1-0 in a penalty shootout.
Next, the schools participated in 1000m races for both boys and girls.
The public school of
Mengong stood out, followed by the school of
Nkoovos in second place. In the 400m races, Nkoovos triumphed for
the boys,
while Mengong 2 claimed victory for the girls.
The second football match featured Mengong 1 against Abiete, which
had to merge with Ebap to
reach the required number of players.
Mengong 1 won decisively with a score of 3-0.
The final match was
between Mengong 1 and Mengong 2, resulting in a victory for
Mengong 2 with a score of 1-0.
Meanwhile, a handball match took place between Mengong 1 and the
bilingual primary school of Mengong,
with Mengong 1 emerging
victorious. The schools also participated in a shot put competition,
which was won by the public school of Nkoovos.
The day concluded with an awards ceremony and the closing of
activities by
Mr. Inspector of Basic Education for the Mengong district.
In heartfelt words of gratitude, the inspector congratulated Professor
Steve Belinga,
promoter and chairman of The Belinga Foundation, for
the Foundation's involvement in organizing and supporting the youth.
The Belinga Foundation is indeed a partner of FENASCO LIGUE B
and has provided support for the organization of the interschool games.
This day of sports and camaraderie allowed the schools in the region to
come together and showcase
the talents of the students. It also
highlighted the importance of sports and physical education in the
development of young people.
