Morning, March 28 in its habit that has become tradition, THE BELINGA FOUNDATION organized a medical outreach in the village of KE’EKE, located in Mengong County. The goal is to offer free health care to rural communities.
The technical team of the foundation, consisting of general practitioners, nurses, a dentist and an ophthalmologist, was on site facing a population in need but whose living conditions do not always allow access to healthcare.
The activity began with a brief speech, but the most important aspect remained the action: consultations and medical care, benefiting over 50 patients. According to the results, 27 people received general consultations, 17 were seen by an ophthalmologist, and 5 patients received dental care.
This initiative is part of THE BELINGA FOUNDATION's "SANTÉ ZERO" initiative, aiming to provide quality healthcare at an affordable cost to rural populations. The foundation also distributed medications at a lower cost and raised awareness among the inhabitants about good health practices.
SANTE ZÉRO demonstrates THE BELINGA FOUNDATION's commitment to improving the health of rural populations and reducing health inequalities. However, one challenge was encountered during the KE'EKE experience: reduced mobilization due to the so-called "dead season" the population is going through.
Nevertheless, Health Zero was well-received, and it is hoped that it will continue to evolve and improve over time.
