Bringing rural education out of the shadows.

More than just a slogan, it’s a driving mission that The Belinga Foundation holds close to its heart. In pursuit of this goal, the NGO casts a wide net—seizing, among other moments, the annual Bia So Mengong Festival as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its support for improving working conditions for the educational community in Mengong.

In this spirit, since 2024, The Belinga Foundation—represented by the Chairman of its Board, Professor Steve-Félix Belinga—has signed an agreement with the Mengong High School, represented by its principal, Mr. Mvondo Ze Gilbert Bienvenu.

The agreement allows the foundation to use the school grounds as the official village for the Bia So Mengong Arts and Culture Festival.

In return, the foundation undertook significant renovation work at the high school in 2024.

This included repainting school buildings, electrifying the campus, installing metal grilles on windows, and equipping the restrooms with proper doors.

Recently, The Belinga Foundation team donated an LCD television and a Canal+ subscription to the school’s staff room. Despite some unfortunate acts of vandalism that required additional repairs, the foundation remains fully committed to supporting rural education in Mengong.

Each year, during the Bia So Mengong Festival, The Belinga Foundation also distributes school supplies to students—encouraging academic excellence and motivating parents to invest in their children's education.
