THE BELINGA FOUNDATION is back to work. After EDUCATION and CULTURE, HEALTH made its return on Friday, October 25, 2024. For this first run of the 2024/2025 financial year, the ENDAM 1 village was chosen to host the HEALTH ZERO caravan.
In this third year of operations, the HEALTH ZERO initiative features a number of innovations. These include the presence of specialists such as ophthalmologists and dentists at each stopover.
It’s 8 a.m. prompt when the team of providers led by JOSEPH MFOU’OU SAMBA, Head of HEALTH department at THE BELINGA FOUNDATION, arrives in ENDAM 1 and takes up residence in the village’s community hall. The first patients soon arrive, and the dentist is the most sought-after of all. Many people take advantage of this opportunity to benefit from treatments they often can’t afford. General medicine is not to be outdone either. A total of 36 patients receive treatments, on top of the dental consultations (among which 5 tooth extractions).
The visit was also marked by an educational talk organized by Mrs SARA NKOUM as part of THE BELINGA FOUNDATION’s SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT sector. The talk focused on the need to take care of one’s body, watch one’s alcohol consumption and lead a healthy lifestyle. The day ends with a buffet offered by the people of ENDAM 1 to the HEALTH ZERO team.
